Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 1907, introduced in 1907, was one of the first commercially successful semi-automatic rifles, chambered in .351 Winchester Self-Loading. Designed for law enforcement, hunting, and even military use, the Model 1907 was ahead of its time, offering a powerful straight-walled cartridge in a semi-automatic platform. It was used by French forces in World War I, American police forces in the 1920s and 1930s, and even saw use among infamous lawmen and outlaws of the era.
This example, manufactured in 1909, is an early production piece and remains a well-preserved representation of this historically significant rifle. With 90% of its original finish retained, a solid bore, and an included detachable magazine, this rifle is in very good condition. The .351 SL cartridge is a fast-moving round, making this rifle a powerful option for its time, used for both law enforcement and big game hunting.
For collectors of early semi-automatic firearms, this is an excellent piece of Winchester history.
