Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked “C. SHARPS ARMS CO. INC. / BIG TIMBER, MONTANA, U.S.A. / 85755.” The left side of the barrel is marked “C. SHARPS ARMS CO. INC. / BIG TIMBER MONTANA USA.” The top of the barrel is marked “Old Reliable” in an octagonal border. The scope is marked “MVA 6X.”

Barrel Length: 30” Octagonal

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a globe sight with a ghost level. The rifle is equipped with an MVA (Montana Vintage Arms) 6X scope mounted on the barrel. The scope has fine crosshairs and appears to be in excellent condition, with clear glass.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The rifle has a straight-grip walnut stock with a schnabel forearm and a shotgun style buttstock. The stock has a high-comb profile and is well-fitted to the receiver. The LOP measures 12 7/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the steel buttplate. There are minor handling marks, but no cracks or chips. The wood rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows handling and operational wear. The case-colored receiver exhibits vibrant hues of blue, purple, and straw tones. The barrel’s blued finish is deep and uniform with minimal wear. The screw heads are sharp and clean. The markings are crisp and well-defined. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
