Our Assessment: The Mauser C96, or “Broomhandle,” is one of the most recognizable and historically significant pistols of the early 20th century. Used by military forces, revolutionaries, and adventurers worldwide, it was one of the first successful semi-automatic pistols, with a distinctive integral magazine and an optional shoulder stock for increased stability.
This particular example was manufactured in 1905, placing it in the classic early production era of the C96. While the original finish has worn to a gray patina, the pistol remains mechanically functional. The bore shows wear, but the action is intact.
What makes this package particularly interesting is the inclusion of a period-style wooden stock, a leather holster, a belt, and modern replacement parts, ensuring continued functionality. Whether for historical collection, potential restoration, or display, this C96 is a fascinating relic of early semi-automatic pistol development and remains a desirable piece for collectors and enthusiasts. So bid high and bid firm. Please take a look at the condition in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid. -K.F.
