Markings: Rear top of the receiver is marked “US RIFLE M1A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 147976”. The top of the barrel is marked, “NM.308-SS”. The top of the bolt carrier group is marked “7790186-SA F00076”. The trigger housing is marked “7267030-HR-N”. The hammer is marked “5546008-HR-N”. The right side of the barrel is marked “SPRINGFIELD INC GENESEO IL”.
Barrel Length: 22”, 25” with the classic flash hider.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a National Match front sight. The Rear Sight is a Match-Grade Aperture Sight with .0520 aperture, ½ MOA windage and elevation increments. The sights function correctly. The front sight post has been painted orange.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is the traditional M14 Walnut stock with two sling swivels, semi pistol grip, straight comb, a 13.25 LOP, butt storage compartment and the hinged metal buttplate. The top handguard is brown composite. The upper handguard shows only minor storage and handling wear with a few small surface level lines and some discoloration from oil. The stock shows scattered minor marks, lines, and compressions. There are four places on the comb of the stock that have been repaired. It appears to have had a cheek riser at one point that was removed and the holes plugged. The toe of the heel has a patch of rub wear. The stock has had an extra sling stud added to the front of the stock for mounting a harris style bi pod. The wood on both sides of the magazine well show marks from mag changes. The metal buttplate shows only minor rub wear on the edges, the hinge spring is strong. The door spring retention has broken so when you open the door the latch shoots out of the door. Overall the stock is in Very Good condition with the exception of the broken spring latch.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle includes one ten round and two 20 rounds magazines. The three magazines are in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. The muzzle device shows only minor carbon fouling. The feed ramps are spotless, smooth and shiny. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is some finish loss from the friction surfaces of the bolt and receiver. There are some very minor surface marks from handling / use. The gas cylinder lock has been painted with purple. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in about Very Good + to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The rifle has had the gas plug replaced with an adjustable gas plug system. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
