Our Assessment:This is a great example of a commercially imported AKM variant. This simple and sturdy military rifle makes for a great addition to any collection and is possibly the closest most of us will get to the original Russian AKs thanks to their involvement with production in Egypt. The Maadi ARM and RPMs were the first AK type rifle to really be imported into the US and set the stage to become one of the most beloved weapons on every corner of the planet. Although this is a post 1989 ban import it is still an early 1993 that still has the Bipod attachment. Later imports for the RPM would lose the Bipod attachment the following year in the 1994 ban. Considering all things, the DNA of this rifle is as Russian as you can get with a true AKM rifle. Any Egyptian AK rifle deserves a place in a prized collection and a chance to be put through its paces at a shooting range. With the RPM’s extended barrel and fancy shmancy Bipod, you’ll look cooler than anyone else. Bid on it, win it, love it! Good Luck!
