Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer locks securely into half cock and full cock and will fall from half cock, however a manual safety is present which prevents the hammer from falling when activated. We did not fire this handgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: A Green River Forge catalog with a typed letter to Rick Hacker is included. Apparently Mr. Hacker reviewed a Green Valley Forge rifle and this pistol was sent to him as thanks in June, 1976. The pistol is fitted with a belt hook and equipped with a wooden ram rod with brown steel tips.

Our Assessment: Green River Forge was based in the state of Washington during the 1970s. They were American made, hand fitted and known to be excellent firearms. This is a Green River Forge Hudson Bay Factor’s flintlock pistol with a .60 caliber smooth bore 7” octagonal barrel. This pistol was sent to writer Rick Hacker in June of 1976 and is accompanied by a GRF catalog and letter to Mr. Hacker. The pistol is in Fine condition and is still a reliable shooter.
