Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY, GENESEO, IL. USA”. The right side of the magazine well is marked with Springfield Armory’s logo and “1005-SA-48-MATCH”. The left side of the receiver is marked “S.A.R.-48 7,62mm SA-1921”. Under the receiver and forward of the magazine well is marked “IMBEL ITAJUBA BRAZIL”. The scope is marked “SIGHTUNIT INFANTRY / TRILUX L2 A2 / 1240-99-964-7647 / AVL /REG. NO / 03801 / R L”. The bottom of the scope is also serialized with the same “03801” number.
Barrel Length: 20″. 22.5″ with muzzle device
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable iron post within two protective ears. The rear sight is an adjustable sliding aperture. The dust cover has an original L2 A2 Scope mounting system serialized “A628” This rifle comes with an original Trilux L2 A2 FAL Scope with its iconic upside down post reticle and rubber eyepiece. The sight picture is clear. This rifle also comes with a dust cover with a weaver rail on top for additional sighting options along with an L2 A2 mount adapter for the weaver rail.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are synthetic with synthetic buttstock with sling ring and rubber buttpad, smooth pistol grip, and vented handguard with cutouts for resting bipods. No Bipod is attached to the barrel. Has a synthetic and metal carry handle. There are some light and hard to notice scratches on the handguard and buttstock as well as a couple shallow nicks on the rear of the pistol grip. Other than that the furniture on this rifle is pristine. The LOP measures 14.35″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition. The gas block is adjustable. There is a free swiveling sling ring banded around the barrel in front of the gas block.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle comes with 3 FAL 20rd 7.62×51 metric magazines in Good-Very Good condition as well as an C1/C2 Mag Reloader.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows slight wear around the ejection port and on the receiver rear of the ejection port. There are also some small scratches on the magwell. The screw heads are sharp and the pins unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with a number of accessories: L2 A2 Scope, extra dust cover with weaver base and L2A2 adapter, C1/C2 Mag reloader, Takedown Tools, a G3 German Bundeswehr Ammo Pouch, an modern production Mag pouch, and a Bushmaster Foam Lined Hard Case to store it all. Our Assessment: The Imbel Springfield SAR-48 is a rifle that was manufactured by the Brazilian company Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil (IMBEL) under a license agreement with Springfield Armory.
