Markings: The tang is marked “0760B”.The top of the barrel is marked “Shiloh-Sharps Model 1874” and “CALIBRE 45  /  27/8”. The left side of the receiver is marked “SHILOH RIFLE MFG. CO. BIG TIMBER, MONTANA.” The right side of the receiver has “PFT” in gold inlay.

Barrel Length: 34” Heavy Octagon Barrel (Personal Note: this is a very heavy weight barrel The barrel weighs approximately 12 pounds) .

Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a Globe front sight with a circle post that is dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip-up ladder marked from 2-8 with a small notch low buckhorn sight when the ladder is folded down dovetailed to the barrel. This rifle includes an MVA tang mounted Vernier Style micrometer sight with a Mid Range Staff and a “small” eye disc.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is a two piece smooth standard grade walnut. The buttstock is a straight hand, long tang grip, straight comb and has a color case hardened smooth buttplate and color case hardened patch box. The handguard is a Hartford Nose cap handguard. The LOP measures 14.25? from the front trigger to the back of the buttplate. The nose cap has some very light surface scratches. The stock has several very light lines and the characteristic mark on the comb from the sight. Overall the furniture rates in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: The barrel is blued and the receiver, lever, tang, patch box, butt plate and hammer are color case hardened. The tang sight and base are high gloss black.

Finish Originality: All Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with almost a rainbow shine and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The screw heads are undamaged and sharp. The markings are clear. The barrel has one very, very small mark. There is no notable wear on the receiver or the sight. Overall this rifle is in Excellent Condition.

Mechanics: This rifle has double set triggers, which function correctly. The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
