Stock Configuration & Condition: The two-piece grips are checkered black plastic with grooves on the backstraps. The grips show scattered minor nicks and scuffing. There is wear around the lanyard ring on the left. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Very Good-Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, just a little stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at all edges. There are some light nicks and scuffs with scratching at the slide stop. The action shows operational wear including a line through the finish between the safety positions. There are infrequent spots of minor surface oxidation. The screw head is sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Very Good-Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide-to-frame fit is snug. The trigger has a smooth takeup with a crisp break. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a single 8-round magazine.

Our Assessment: The P210 pistol was originally manufactured in 1947 and became the standard military pistol of the Swiss Army in 1949, thus the Military designation P49. It was manufactured continuously for over 55 years. The pistols were decommissioned and replaced by the SIG P220 (Swiss Army designation Pistole 75) but P210s are greatly valued by shooting sports competitors. The Swiss military used the “A” serial number prefix and these were stamped “P” when they were decommissioned which we can observe on this example. A stamped “P” on the trigger guard shows that the weapon was left as a gift to the owner upon leaving the armed forces.

This one has wear consistent with its service, retaining a good bore and strong mechanics. These guns are regarded by collectors as one of, if not, the best-constructed service handguns ever, and the originals are always increasing in value. It should be a great investment and a wonderful addition to your collection. Please see our photos and good luck!

Please forgive any typos, I was educated in California. -Bud
