Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a red fiber optic insert dovetailed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is an Ed Brown square notch adjustable target sight with a serrated rear face, dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered cocobolo double diamond panels. The left panel has a tiny loss at the bottom-front corner. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few minor marks, most notable on the left slide flat over the dust cover. The action shows light operational wear. The screw sockets are strong. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly with a snug and smooth slide to frame fit. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be required to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue Ed Brown soft case, the owner’s manual, a cable lock, two 7-round magazines, and one 8-round magazine. Also included is an Ed Brown letter of authenticity confirming the gun’s born-on date and configuration.
Our Assessment: Ed Brown is among a small group of the best manufacturers of custom and semi-custom 1911s in the world including Wilson Combat, Nighthawk Custom and Les Baer. This pistol is an excellent example of why they have earned this reputation. With the Classic Custom 1911, Ed Brown has combined the most desired upgrades, including front strap and mainspring housing checkering, extended beavertail indexing bump safety, a thumb safety, and skeletonized hammer and trigger, with their legendary craftsmanship quality. The type of quality that makes this an excellent target and defensive pistol with which you can trust your life! This pistol is in Fine-plus condition, showing signs of light use, with great mechanics and a nice bore. If you’ve been looking to get a premium-quality 1911, you can’t do much better than this.
