Our Assessment: This is a Valmet Oy manufactured over/under rifle which was made under contract for Valmet; Valmet is a Finnish company whose origins can be traced back to the late 18th century. The Valmet Model 412 is a versatile combination gun and double rifle. The Valmet Model 412 features an over/under double-barrel break action, similar to the Remington 32 (3200). The shotgun barrels come in 12 gauge (with a brief 20-gauge option), while rifle barrels are available in various calibers: .308 Winchester, .30-06, 7.62x54R, or 9.3x74R. Rimless cartridge barrels have extractors, while rimmed cartridge barrels typically have ejectors. The action uses a monobloc system for barrel attachment and features a single trigger. The mechanical trigger system ensures the second shot fires even if the first fails. Barrel Options include, Shotgun barrels: Available in 12 gauge with 26?, 28?, or 30? lengths. Rifle barrels: Choose from .308 Winchester, .30-06, 7.62x54R, or 9.3x74R. The Valmet 412 is ideal for various shooting opportunities, such as hunting, rough shooting, and stalking.
