Markings: The barrels are marked, “MADE IN JAPAN / PIGEON GRADE – WINCHESTER – MODEL 23 XTR – 12 GAUGE 3” – 76mm / NEW HAVEN CONN, U.S.A.” The rib is marked, “PIGEON GRADE” The frame and forend metal have fine western style engraving. The barrels and forend are marked with the serial number. The bottom of the frame is marked, “WINCHESTER ” The serial is under the brake lever. The forend is marked, “200293” The underside of the barrels are marked, “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL / MOD / FULL” The barrel flats are marked, “200293” with various proofs.

Choke: The left barrel measures FULL, Fixed. The right barrel measures MODIFIED, Fixed.
Sights / Optics: This shotgun has a dual white bead setup atop a knurled raised vented rib.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a wide beavertail forend, Prince of Wales buttstock, straight comb, and rubber recoil pad. There are scratches and pressure dents throughout. There is a crack behind the frame on the right side. The checkering is worn in spots but otherwise sharp. There are no chips. The LOP measures 12 7/8” from the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stocks are in Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion but there is some light fouling throughout. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate at a 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The barrel has small nicks throughout. There is some light finish loss along with some rust spots throughout the barrels and rib. Overall, this shotgun is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
