Markings: The barrel shank is marked with a German proof mark that features the number “468” and the caliber “8x68S”. The left side of the chamber ring is marked with a German proof and the serial number “G08267”. The top of the receiver is marked “MAUSER-WERKE A.G.”, “Oberndorf a.N.” and “Mod. 66”. The top of the barrel shank is marked “Original / MAUSER”.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade pinned to a checkered ramped base fixed to the barrel. The front sight base is slotted for a hood (not included). There are scope provisions mounted to the barrel and receiver. There is a railed base fixed in front of the chamber with a folding u-notch leaf with windage adjustment.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stock is one-piece checkered wood featuring a checkered forend, checkered semi-pistol grip, Monte Carlo style comb and brown rubber buttpad. The forend and grip There are two sling swivels: one located under the forend and the other on the belly.The stock has some light handling marks, scratches and nicks. Otherwise, there are no notable defects. The LOP is 13.25” from the trigger to the rear end of the buttpad. The buttpad has some mild handling marks. Overall, the stock is in Fine condition. The receiver is factory engraved.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some minor corrosion in the grooves toward the muzzle end. In this writers opinion the bore rates 8.5/10.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are some handling marks, scratches and nicks. Notably, the top of the barrel has some scratches. There is thinning on the bolt handle. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are serviceable. Overall, the rifle is in Fine condition.
