Action Type:  Break-Open Box-lock, Side by Side, Double Barrel Shotgun with Extractors.

Markings: The water table is marked, “468838 / PAT’D / F 12” The forend is marked with the serial number on the wood and spacer metal. The top of the barrels are marked, “NEW ITHACA FIELD GRADE / ITHACA GUN Co. ITHACA, N.Y.” The barrel flats are marked, “468838” There are various proofs throughout.

Barrel Length: 30”

Choke:  Fixed. The right barrel is IMPROVED MODIFIED, The left barrel is FULL.

Sights / Optics: There is a brass bead set atop the knurled rib.

Stock Configuration & Condition: This shotgun has a two piece checkered walnut set with a capped splinter forend, capped semi-pistol grip, straight fluted comb, and serrated plastic buttplate. The checkering is semi-sharp. There are pressure dents, scuffs, and small scratches throughout. There are no chips but there are two cracks on the right side of the forend. Overall the stocks are in Very Good condition for C&R.

Type of Finish: Blued, Case Colored

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition:  Both bores are bright. There is some minor fouling scattered throughout. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9.5/10 for C&R.

Overall Condition:  This shotgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The case color on the frame has worn on the front half. The finish on the barrels has thinned. There are small scratches and nicks throughout. The leading edges of the trigger guard are worn. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Very Good condition for C&R.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly.  We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
