Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN”. The right side of the barrel is marked “BAR-22 CALIBER 22 LONG RIFLE ONLY”. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The buttplate is marked “BROWNING”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed to a riser that is fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a folding “U”-notch adjustable for elevation dovetailed at the rear of the barrel. The top of the receiver is grooved for a scope mount (none included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and black plastic buttplate. The wood shows some minor lines, and dings scattered throughout. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. The LOP measures 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate, which shows hardly any wear. The wood is in overall Excellent condition given the age of the rifle.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is no visible lead fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The metal surfaces show almost no signs of wear. There are a few scattered marks on the top of the receiver and a small line on the left and one on the side that are hardly visible. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent to Excellent + condition considering its age.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is a cross bolt safety behind the trigger. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
