Markings (Same on both aside from respective SN): The left side of the barrel is marked “-CIVIL WAR CENTENNIAL MODEL -.22 CAL. SHORT”. The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number. The right side of the trigger guard is with a “VP” within a triangle. The left side of the frame is marked with a colt Rampant.
Barrel Length (Both): 6”
Sights/Optics (Both): The front sight is a steel quarter-round blade set into the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch integral to the top strap.
Stock Configuration and Condition (Both): The grips are two-piece smooth wood panels. Both panels have minor nicks along the lower edges and light draglines. The right panel has a small nick in the middle. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Excellent condition.
Type of Finish (Both): Gold Wash, Black
Finish Originality (Both): Original
Bore Condition (Both): The bores are gray. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 10/10.
Overall Condition (Both): These handguns retain about 94% of their finish. They both display no operation wear. The Gold wash has thinned over time with some tarnish visible. Pins are unmarred, and all markings are clear. Overall, this revolver set rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics (Both): The actions function correctly. We did not fire these revolvers. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories (Both): This set comes with a Colt display case and sleeve.
