Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “HK USP COMPACT .40 S&W”, “AA”, “26-041931”, the HK international training division logo and several proofs. The right side of the frame is marked “Heckler & Koch GmbH / Made in Germany” and “DE/Patent. 19732857”. The left side of the frame is marked “HK USP”. The chamber is marked “HK .40S&W 26-041931”. The dust cover is marked “Heckler & Koch INC / 26-041931 / Sterling, VA”. The bottom of the trigger guard is marked “WARNING REFER TO OWNER’S MANUAL”.
Barrel Length: 3.5”.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a tritium lamp white dotted blade dovetailed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch two tritium lamp sight dovetailed to the slide. Three tritium lamp sighting system. The tritium lamps glow dimly in low light environments.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are integral to the black polymer frame and have square checkering on the front and back straps with texturing on the flanks. The grips show no handling wear. Overall, the grips are in Excellent to Like New condition. The bottom of the frame has an accessory rail.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the polygonal rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. This pistol appears unfired. The feed ramp is smooth and shiny. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99.5% of its metal finish. There is no visible handling wear or wear from use. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Like New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol includes two HK 10rd magazines one with a flush plate and one with a finger extension both in Like New condition. Also includes, a challenge coin, two keys, and a wooden presentation box with felt bottom.
Our Assessment: The HK USP 40 Compact LEM Commemorative Edition is a special edition of the Heckler & Koch USP Compact series, renowned for its reliability, durability, and performance. This particular model of the USP Compact with the Law Enforcement Modification (LEM) trigger system, has a visually striking High Gloss Blued Engraved Slide marked with HK’s International Training Division’s Logo. The HK USP (Universal Self-loading Pistol) Compact is designed to offer the same reliability and performance as its full-sized counterpart but in a smaller, more concealable package. The .40 S&W chambering provides a good balance between stopping power and manageable recoil, making it suitable for personal defense and duty use. The LEM (Law Enforcement Modification) trigger system is a hybrid design that combines the safety and reliability of a double-action-only (DAO) system with a lighter trigger pull similar to a single-action (SA) trigger. This system provides a consistent and smooth trigger pull, which enhances accuracy and control, especially in high-stress situations. This edition also comes with a Challenge Coin and a very nice wood presentation box commemorating the impact that HK pistols had on the firearms industry in the 1980s and 1990s.
