Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY St LOUIS Mo & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN BELGIUM”. The barrel is marked “CAL. 9m/mP.”. The right trigger guard bow is marked with a Belgian proof mark and the left trigger guard bow is marked “2”. The bottom flat of the firing pin housing, under the slide, is marked with a Belgian proof mark and small factory markings. There are factory markings on the left side of the barrel lug. The right side of the barrel lug is marked with a Belgian proof mark and an inspection. The front strap is marked “75C48145”.

Barrel Length: 4 5/8”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a round blade fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut panels with smooth borders. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The magazine disconnect safety is present and functional. The trigger is crisp. There is minor play between the slide and frame. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a single 13-round magazine and a black Browning zipper case with red interior.

Our Assessment: Browning Hi-Power pistols are known to be quality tried and trusted pistols. They have been the chosen sidearm by armies and police forces across the world throughout the millennia. Manufactured in 1975, this is a C-series example in Excellent condition, appearing to have seen limited and responsible use. The C-series are not as highly sought after as the T-series BHP but they are certainly desirable and near completely identical. This would make a practical self-defense arm, but in its high condition and with the included Browning case, it will also make a nice find for collectors. Please see our photos and good luck!
