Action Type: Over/Under Double Barrel Shotgun with Ejectors and Inertial Trigger
Barrel Length: Both barrel sets measure 28 1/4”. Dual Vent Rib
Choke: One barrel set is threaded for choke tubes with Cylinder chokes installed in both. This shotgun also comes with one each Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full chokes in a polymer case. The other barrel set is not threaded and can accept the included Briley Tube sets. The tube sets are chambered for 20 Gauge, 28 Gauge and .410. The choke tubes are threaded and installed for choke tubes as well but do not include any additional chokes for the tube sets.
Sights / Optics: On both barrel sets, the front sight is a rear-facing white bead fixed to the rib above the muzzles. There is a small mid-bead fixed to each rib. The tops of the ribs are finely checkered to help reduce glare.
Weight: 8 lbs, 12.2 oz.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are aftermarket three-piece checkered wood featuring a grooved forend, a semi-pistol grip with a right-side palm swell, an adjustable comb and a Shock Master adjustable buttpad. The wood shows only a few light nicks and some minor handling and storage marks. The checkering is distinct. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad as it currently sits but can be adjusted. The drop at the adjustable comb is 1 3/8” in its current setting. The drop at the adjustable heel is 1 3/4” in its current setting. The cast is neutral. The stocks are in Excellent overall condition. This shotgun also comes with the original Perazzi stock and forend (included but not installed).
Type of Finish: Blue
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bores are bright in both barrel sets. There is no erosion in any of the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate a 9 or 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear or damage, just some light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrel lockup has no play to the receiver. We did not fire this firearm. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic’s check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes with a hard case (please note the center clasp is not working) with a nylon cover, a black polymer box with the three (3) additional 12 GA choke tubes, a red Perazzi polymer box containing alternate hammer springs with pins and a tool, three (3) pairs of Briley tube sets (20 GA, 28 GA, .410) and three (3) choke wrenches (12 GA, 20 GA, 28 GA). There is no choke wrench for .410. This shotgun also comes with the original Perazzi stock and forend (included but not installed).
Our Assessment: Perazzi sounds like a high-end sports car, and in the gun world it is. They have long been a staple of just about any kind of shotgun sport you can name, famous for their craftsmanship, beauty and durability. As such, they command a high price, with some buyers going all the way to Italy to be measured in person so that their gun can be specially and exactly fit to them. That said, like a high-end sports car, it can be much more economical to buy used. This one is their MX2000 models and it comes with a pair of 28 1/4″ barrels (one set threaded for 12 GA chokes and the other set up to accept the included Briley Tube Sets to change calibers). With its beautiful construction and legendary Perazzi quality, this is a gun that will turn some heads and dust some clays. Please see our photos and good luck in your bidding!
