Choke: The barrels are threaded for choke tubes. The .410 barrels are installed with Improved Cylinder (left) and Skeet (right). This shotgun also comes with three (3) additional chokes marked “IM”, “MOD” and “FULL” with a choke tool. The 28 GA barrels are installed with Improved Cylinder (left) and Skeet (right). Sights / Optics: The front sight is a rear-facing white bead fixed to the rib above the muzzle. Each rib has a smaller mid-rib. The tops of the ribs are serrated to help reduce glare.
Weight: 6 lbs, 6.1 oz.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The barrels each come with a Schnabel style checkered forends. The buttstock features a checkered semi-pistol grip, a straight comb and a Decelerator buttpad. The grip has a palm swell on the right side. The wood shows light nicks, scuffs, compressions and some minor handling and storage marks. The checkering is distinct with only a few small blemishes. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad and 13 3/4” to the wood. The drop at the comb is 1 1/4”. The drop at the heel is 2”. The cast is neutral. The stocks are in Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The .410 bores are mostly bright. There is a bit of stubborn fouling but no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate a 9 or 10 out of 10. The 28 GA bores are mostly bright. There is a bit of stubborn fouling and mild erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate an 8 or 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a few sparsely scattered light nicks and handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrel lockup is tight with no play to the receiver. We did not fire this firearm. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic’s check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes with a Browning labeled suitcase-style case, the 28 GA barrel assembly and the alternate choke tubes described above.
Our Assessment: SKB was one of the high-quality Japanese contractors to create imports for several American importers and manufacturers, similar to the well-known Browning/Miroku partnership.
