Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Trijicon blade with a tritium insert dovetailed to the slide above the muzzle. The rear sight is a Heinie square notch featuring black serrated rear face and a tritium insert at the base of the notch dovetailed to the top rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece aftermarket smooth wood panels. The grips show no notable wear or damage, just a few faint handling and storage marks. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in Excellent overall condition. The original checkered double diamond wood grip panels are included but not installed.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion and for the age, this bore rates a 9 or 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear or damage, just a few light handling marks. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide fits snugly and runs smoothly with no play to the frame. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This handgun comes with a wooden display case featuring a hinged top and sliding drawer, the original grip panels as mentioned above, an instruction manual, a padded black nylon carrying bag with the Ed Brown Products logo, a bushing wrench and two (2) 8-round magazines with intact feed lips and strong follower springs.
Our Assessment: Ed Brown is among a small group of the best manufacturers of custom and semi-custom 1911s in the world including Wilson Combat, Nighthawk Custom and Les Baer. This pistol is an excellent example of why they have earned this reputation. With the Special Forces 1911 series, Ed Brown has combined the most desired upgrades, including front strap and mainspring housing chainlink treatment, extended beavertail, indexing bump safety, a skeletonized hammer and trigger with their legendary craftsmanship quality. Exactly the type of quality that makes this an excellent target and defensive pistol upon which you can trust your life! This pistol is in Excellent condition, showing signs of light use, with great mechanics and a nice bore. It also comes with a great display box for those key moments when you want to indulge in a bit of showing off. If you’ve been looking to get a premium-quality 1911, you can’t do much better than this. Also, this particular pistol should be of special interest to some as it is PPT-eligible in California.
