Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its metal finish. The finish is strong throughout with minimal operational wear and light handling marks. There are a few areas of discoloration on the loading gate and loading cut. The rear face of the cylinder has some patches of bronzish metallic discoloration. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Fine condition as restored.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. This revolver’s cylinder has a fixed bushing. The lockup produces very little play on all six chambers. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a blue Colt hard case with a missing label and a manual. Also included is a Colt letter.
Our Assessment: Colt’s Single Action Army is, perhaps more than any other, an iconic American pistol. It was the U.S. issue sidearm for the last two decades of the 19th century, used by pioneers, outlaws and lawmen across the expanding nation, and captivated audiences on the silver screen and television (and still does, today). Produced for nearly a century and a half, they are still being made, today! Everyone should have a Colt Single Action Army, and this would be a great one to add to any collection. Manufactured in 1992, this revolver is chambered in the classic .45 Colt cartridge with a 4 3/4″ barrel. It shipped in 1992 as a one gun shipment to Bangers Distribution and features a classy trio of bluing and case color set off by fire blued screws which are timed. It is dressed in Class B engraving and has smooth walnut grips from the factory. This is a beautiful revolver, the only thing keeping it from rating Excellent is the bore, and lets face it…nobody is shooting bullseye matches with this anyway, so who cares. This will easily embellish any collection lucky enough to have it. The gun is in Fine condition, appearing to have spent more time in its included factory box than out. This is THE classic sixgun in the classic SAA cartridge that would be a phenomenal addition to any safe in America…this is one pretty pony! Please see our photos and good luck!
Some are hot, some are not, but thankfully most can be shot!
