Our Assessment: The Ruger M77 is a bolt-action rifle manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. It has been a popular choice among hunters, sport shooters, and military and law enforcement personnel since its introduction in 1968. The M77 has gone through several variations and models over the years, but its basic design and functionality have remained consistent. The M77 is available in various calibers, including popular options like .308 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, .270 Winchester, and many others. The specific calibers offered may vary depending on the model and variant. Most M77 rifles use an internal box magazine that is integral to the rifle’s design. The magazine capacity depends on the caliber, with typical capacities ranging from three to five rounds.

This example is the Ruger Safari Magnum, it was first introduced in 1990 and is no longer in production, it is chambered for .375 H&H and was manufactured in 2007. The .375 H&H often is cited as one of the most useful all-round rifle cartridges, especially in shooting large and dangerous game. Taken from “Ruger & His Guns” written by R.L. Wilson, “Reasonable cost, custom features, and exceptional finish detail put the Ruger Express and Magnum rifle in a class by themselves. The Ruger magnum rifle continues the tradition of beautiful, powerful rifles, a tradition begun in the great game areas of Asia and Africa.” This bolt action rifle has a very nicely preserved circassian walnut checkered stock with black composition forend cap, rubber recoil pad, steel pistol grip cap with inset brass trademark. This RSM has an internal magazine that can hold up to 4 rounds and is breech machined for 1” ring Ruger scope mounts. This M77 Ruger Safari Magnum has been well taken care of, it would be a great choice for medium or large game hunting. Please see our photos, good luck and happy bidding!
