Bore Condition: The bores are bright, their rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: These revolvers retain 96% of their metal finish. Each revolver has some scattered cloudiness in their finish and there is oxidation around each firing pin and in each hammer slot. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, these revolvers are in about Fine-plus condition.

Mechanics: The actions function correctly. The cylinder’s lock up with very little play on each chamber. The triggers are crisp. The cylinder bushings are fixed. We did not fire these handguns. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Each revolver comes in a two piece blue cardboard Colt box with an assortment of factory paperwork including manual. Each box comes in a white cardboard sleeve with serial-matching label.

Our Assessment: This is a beautiful pair of Single Action Army revolvers, made in 2003. The pair was special-ordered with custom serial numbers, engraving, 4 3/4″ barrels, nickel finish, and chambered for the classic .45 Colt cartridge. This order was made by none other than Judge Roy Bean, SASS #1 and carry custom serial numbers of SA00001SS and SS00001SA. These gorgeous guns appear to have spent more of their lives in their factory boxes than out, with little sign of use since leaving Colt. They will make a fine addition to any collection, especially for a Cowboy Action Shooter given their previous ownership by the sport’s founder. Please see our photos and good luck!

Please forgive any typos, I was educated in California. -Bud
