Our Assessment: Detonics was an early producer of compact 1911-style pistols, similar to the Officer’s model, and is perhaps best known for their compact, concealed carry pistols. They developed several other handgun models, and while their quality was always considered quite high, so were their prices. In 1988, the company was sold and proceeded to go through a number of owners until becoming Detonics USA in Pendergrass, Georgia in 2004. Though they would ultimately close their doors in mid-2007, Detonics USA also was known for producing high-quality 1911-style pistols. This is an earlier Detonics example from their days in Seattle Washington. The Scoremaster is their full-size competition target pistol with a bushingless bull barrel, adjustable target sights, full-length guide rod, beavertail grip safety, and tighter tolerances. This example appears to have seen some little use and comes a Detonics box and three magazines. Whether you’re loooking for a new 1911-style pistol or are an avid Detonics collector, this is a great pistol to add to any collection. Please see our photos and good luck!

Some are hot, some are not, but thankfully most can be shot!
