Markings: The top of the frame behind the hammer is marked with the serial number “239474”. The sides of the frame are marked with scroll engraving and a circle with a cougar on a boulder. The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “THOMPSON : CENTER ARMS / ROCHESTER, N H.” and “223 REM / “SUPER 14””. The front of the frame is marked “TCA-C / ROCH-NH”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed to a checkered ramped base that is screwed to the barrel. The base is slotted for a hood that is not present. The rear of the barrel is equipped with a one piece rail with two rings for mounting an optic (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two-piece smooth wood set with a capped pistol grip that has finger grooves and a thumb shelf for right handed shooters. The grip cap is marked “TC”. There is a faint mark here and there but no significant wear. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There is a notable scratch on the top of the barrel and other scattered light handling marks. The trigger guard shows a few scratches and scuffs. There is light operational wear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The previously mentioned rail and rings are included as well as a TC soft zipper case.
Our Assessment: Since the first Contender pistol was made in 1967, it has been the choice of serious handgun hunters around the world. This example is a Super 14 model that was manufactured in 1984 and chambered for the ubiquitous .223 Remington. This pistol has a beautiful appearance and smooth mechanics, appearing to have been well cared for. It comes equipped with a rail and two attached rings for mounting an optic of your choosing.
