Our Assessment: The Savage 10ML – II was introduced as a modernization of the black powder muzzle loader platform. The primary difference between the 10ML – II and the original 10ML is that the 10ML – II IS considered an ANTIQUE by ATF and does NOT require an FFL for transfer. From the inception, this design proved very popular.  This rifle fills many roles, including extending hunting seasons qualification for black powder or muzzleloaders or for marksmanship on the range. They are known for their reliability, aided by being ignited by a 209 shotgun primer rather than a percussion cap, which is not only more consistent but also typically more common to find on the shelf at your local reloading supply store. This modern take on a historical design adds versatility and interest to any firearms roster. Good luck in your bidding!
