Pins and controls are unmarred, and all markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Fine–plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single action is crisp and very light, and the double action is smooth and buttery. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This Redhawk includes a product-matching black and yellow box.

Our Assessment: The Redhawk was Ruger’s first large bore double action revolver and was available in several barrel lengths and chambered for an assortment of powerful cartridges such as .357 and like this one, .41 Magnum. Like the Security-Six before it, the Redhawk was designed by Harry Sefried as a part of their “6” line of guns (Security, Service, Speed, etc.) The Redhawk is a wrist-breaker, truly a beastly thrill to shoot, but as a tool, it’s best utilized when on the hunt should you run into a predator yourself. This example is in overall Fine-plus condition with minimal wear. Notable here is the less common .41 Remington Magnum chambering, a cartridge that never truly took off, but was an adequate answer to the intense recoil and perceived overkill of .357 Magnum—.41 was easier to handle when firing multiple shots, making for more accurate shooting. Good luck and happy bidding!
