Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “KIMBER MFG. INC. YONKERS, NY, USA 375 H&H MAG TALKEETNA” and has an encircled “P” at the chamber. The left of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Kimber 8400”. The underside of the bolt handle is matched and hand inscribed “544”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a white beaded blade set in a serrated ramped base that is fixed to the barrel and installed with a protective hood. The rear sight is a “U” notch single leaf express sight fixed to the barrel. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled, tapped, and filled holes.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece gray reinforced carbon fiber with a pistol grip, straight comb, black rubber buttpad, sling stud in the belly, and a black rubber buttpad. There are some scattered light handling marks. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the pad. The pad has no major defects. The stock rates in Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is light handling wear and some faint operational wear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This rifle has a three-position safety and a claw extractor. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Introduced by Kimber in 2008, the 8400 Talkeetna is a premium dangerous game hunting rifle. It combines some of the most desirable features such as a 3-position safety, controlled feed bolt, stainless steel finish, and a carbon fiber reinforced stock for ultimate performance and reliability no matter the environment. The rifle features a 24″ barrel chambered for .375 H&H Magnum and stainless finish. This one has light handling wear and looks like it was hardly ever out of the box.
