Our Assessment: The most compact of Colt’s 1911-style firearms, the Officer’s model has a shorter barrel than the Commander and a shorter frame than either the Commander or Government model, making it better for concealed carry. This example is an M1991A1 Compact Stainless, similar to the standard Officer’s models from Colt. Chambered for the powerful .45 ACP cartridge, this would make a potent carry pistol that will conceal well while still packing a punch. The pistol is in about Excellent condition with signs of light use, a bright bore with sharp rifling, and strong mechanics. While it would be a good candidate for carry, this particular version of the M1991A1 was only made in 1999 and would be a nice addition to a Colt collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
