Our Assessment: The Ruger M77 is a robust bolt-action rifle designed in 1968 by L. James Sullivan during his short three-years with Ruger. Intended as a modernized Mauser 98, it featured simplified ejector updates and a newly designed safety system—gone was the grip tang switch, replaced with switch situated to the right of the bolt. This rifle dates back to 1996, well after the time of the first major M77 re-tooling. This example features a 22” barrel chambered for .22-250 Remington. In Fine-to-Excellent condition, this rifle is a rifle that will make a great addition to a stable of M77s. The bore is in good shape as is the included scope. Good luck and happy bidding!
