Our Assessment: The Redhawk was Ruger’s first large bore double action revolver and was available in several barrel lengths and chambered for an assortment of powerful cartridges such as .357 and like this one, .44 Remington Magnum. Like the Security-Six before it, the Redhawk was designed by Harry Sefried as a part of their “6” line of guns (Security, Service, Speed) The Redhawk is a what is colloquially known as a wrist-breaker, a beastly thrill to shoot, but as a tool, it’s best utilized when on the hunt should you run into a predator yourself—that kill was yours, not some lazy bear’s. And this example’s 8” barrel and notches for mounting an optic (no rings or optics are included) will make the task even easier, should the moment come. This example is in overall Fine condition with minimal wear. Good luck and happy bidding!
