Markings: The left side of the frame is marked “WITNESS / EAA – ROCKLEDGE – FLA” and “FT-MADE IN ITALY”. The left side of the slide is marked “LIMITED”. The chamber visible through the ejection port is marked with two Italian proof marks and “CAL .38 SA”. The right side of the frame is marked “READ WARNINGS / BEFORE USING GUNS” under the safety, “EA42649”, and “C.9959”. The right lower shoulder of the frame is marked “CC” in a square with three Italian proof marks.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a red fiber optic blade slotted in a fore to aft dovetailed base that is set screwed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a fully adjustable square notch with a serrated rear face that is dovetailed into the slide. The sides of the frame have four drilled and tapped holes for a frame side mounted optic (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are skip-line checkered wood panels. The panels are free of any notable wear of damage. The checkering is sharp. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition. The front and back strap have sharp checkering.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore but there is a small amount of stubborn fouling in the grooves.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is a small amount of surface oxidation behind the trigger. There are some faint little nicks and scratches on the right side of the frame. There is light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide has barely perceptible play to the frame. The trigger reset is a little sticky and will need to be properly cleaned. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a Tanfoglio hard case with a red suede interior, a total of four 18-round magazines, two additional recoil springs, trigger lock, additional front sight, and additional nuts and screws. Please note, no magazine will be included where it cannot be legally transferred.
Our Assessment: Drawing significantly from the design of the CZ-75, the Tanfoglio Witness shares many of that pistol’s qualities including a slide-in design which allows for less reciprocating mass and a lower bore axis. The action is smooth, the grip frame is ergonomic, forward and rear slide serrations, and adjustable sights, an all-around fun pistol well suited to a variety of uses. This pistol is in about Fine-Excellent condition that has been very well cared for and comes with four magazines to get you started. This would make a fine carry, home defense, or even competition pistol. Please see our pictures and good luck!
