Overall, this rifle rates in Good-to-Very Good condition.

Our Assessment: This is a Winchester Model 1892 made in 100 and chambered in .25-20 Winchester. This rifle is in Good-to-Very Good condition with about 66% of its finish remaining. Given the proof marks on the upper barrel flat, we believe the barrel was replaced at a later date. The bore is semi-bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. The lever locks up solidly and the action functions correctly. The .25-20 WCF cartridge was based on necking down the .32-20 cartridge and was intended for small game and varmints, developing about 1460 fps. with 86 grain bullets. It was once a favorite with farmers, ranchers, pot hunters and trappers. Given its pre-WWII manufacture date, this rifle should be of real interest to the Winchester collectors. Please see our photos and good luck!
