Our Assessment: The Walther PP, or Polizeipistole, was introduced in 1929 and found great success both commercially and with law enforcement agencies, with variants still in production today. This model PP was made in 1940. The front grip strap is engraved with the letters “R.J.” which has been theorized to stand for the Reichs JustizMinisterium (Reich Justice Ministry), Reich Juderschule (SS officer cadet training school) or Reich Jugend (Hitler Youth). Others have theorized that the RJ is actually RI which would stand for the Reich Ministry of the Interior. The pistol is in about Very Good condition, showing holster wear retaining a great bore and strong mechanics. This will make a great addition to a Walther or law enforcement pistol collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
