Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 9422 .22 L-L.R. / MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. – WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL”, the top has a “WP” proof in an oval. The underside of the receiver and trigger frame are marked with matching serial number “F731847”.
Barrel Length: 16.5”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade dovetailed to a serrated ramped riser that is fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a “U”-notch leaf and elevator sight with white triangle aiming reference. The notch is fine adjustable for elevation. The top of the receiver is grooved to accept optic mounts (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered wood with banded forend, straight grip, straight comb, and checkered black plastic Winchester buttplate. The stocks have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4? from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has minor wear at the heel and toe with sharp checkering and lettering. Overall, the stocks are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a Winchester 9422, based, of course, on the company’s tried and true Model 94 Lever Action carbine. The 9422 is chambered for the .22 LR and shorter rimfire cartridges, making for a fun little plinker. The action has to be felt to understand, with a flick of the wrist, you’ve already got another round chambered. This 9422 is in Excellent condition, showing little sign of use, if any. This would be a great rifle for taking care of all kinds of varmint as well as being a nice piece to add to a Winchester collection. Please see our pictures and good luck!
