Our Assessment: This German Gewehr 98 Mauser was made back in 1905 at the Mauser Oberndorf. There is no German “eagle” stamped on the receiver and the import mark reads “TURKEY” indicating that this rifle was produced for Turkey as a contract rifle. The metal has been refinished and the wood has been refurbished. The rifle still has lots of nice markings on the metal. The roller coaster sights are in good shape for being over 100 years old. The rifle comes with a Model 1898 Bayonet & Scabbard. The rifle looks impressive with the bayonet mounted. This is a good looking Gewehr 98 Mauser that will add to your Military collection.
