Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY INC., ILION, NY”, “22-250 REM.”, and is also marked with an inspection mark and “XA” at the receiver. The right side of the barrel is marked with magnaflux, proof, and test marks at the breech. The bolt is matched to the rifle and the bottom is marked “0664”.

Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is installed with a one-piece base and a pair of rings holding a Weaver CT24 Microtrac 24×40 scope. The scope has some light handling marks. There is some finish wear on the adjustment caps. It has a fine crosshair with a small dot in the center. The glass is clear and the scope rates in about Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is textured tan composite with black webbing, a palm swell pistol grip, a straight comb, enlarged forend with finger grooves, and a black rubber buttpad. There are two swivel studs on the bottom of the forend and one on the belly. There is a little mark on the front edge of the forend that has removed some finish and light surface material. There are a couple light scuffs and light handling marks. There is a faint hairline scratch on the right side of the buttstock. The LOP measures 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the textured rubber Remington buttpad. The buttpad has some light wear. The stock rates in about Fine-Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few faint scuffs on the barrel, hardly noticeable. There are a couple of marks on the edges of the flutes. There are a few light handling marks. There is light operational wear. The markings are strong. The screw sockets are lightly worn with strong slots. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction. It has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement. The 700 has been made in just about any configuration you can imagine, and if it hasn’t the parts are out there for you to do it yourself. This example has a 26″ fluted barrel chambered for .22-250 Remington, a textured synthetic stock with a straight comb, and a blued finish. This one will be great for target shooting or varmint hunting and comes installed with an optic.
