Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “-WINCHESTER- / -TRADE MARK- / -MADE IN U.S.A.-”, “MODEL 94 – 30-30 WIN.- / -WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-“, the top at the rear has an ovalled “WP” proof, as does the top of the chamber ring. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the front. The front of the trigger plate, just ahead of the trigger is marked “DK”.
Barrel Length: 20″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to a serrated, ramped base fixed to the front of the barrel and under a hood. The rear sight is a “U”-notch elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The leaf is finely adjustable for elevation. The left of the receiver is drilled & tapped for a receiver sight (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth wood with banded forend, straight grip, straight comb, and checkered steel buttplate. The stocks have evenly scattered scratches, compressions, and light scuffs. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has some light oxidation. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. The muzzle has an M.E. of about 1.7.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 94% of its metal finish. There are some light nicks and scratches on the sides of the receiver and lever. The rear sight has taken a slight plum hue. There is a small spot of thinned finish on the top of the barrel. There are a few sparse marks on the barrel and magazine tube. The screw heads are mostly sharp, some are slightly disfigured yet plenty serviceable. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The rifle has a half-cock safety and a lever safety. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a Winchester Model 94 Carbine in .30-30 WCF that was made in 1961. The .30-30 is perhaps the most popular deer cartridge in America, and the 94 chambered for this classic round is nearly synonymous with “deer rifle”. This rifle is in about Fine condition with 94% of its metal finish remaining, a great bore and strong mechanics. It could be back out in the field dropping deer for another lifetime.
