Our Assessment: This early Japanese Type 99 Long Arisaka was made by the Hiroshima Plant of Toyo Kogyo (Toyo Manufacturing) sometime in 1938 or 1939. Type 99 Long Rifles were quickly replaced by the Type 99 Short which, of course, had a shorter barrel & overall length. Toyo Manufacturing was a subcontractor for the Kokura Arsenal during WWII. This Arisaka has a full chrysanthemum, monopod, Type 99 Long Anti Aircraft Sights, and a dust cover. Good luck.
