Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PROOF TESTED CAL. 30-06” and with two proof stamps. The left side of the chamber ring is marked with the serial number, “57034”. The right side of the receiver is marked “—SAVAGE ARMS— / WESTFIELD MASS. U.S.A.” and “SAVAGE / MODEL 110L”. The buttplate is marked “SAVAGE” and with the Savage indian logo. The barrel nut, bolt handle, the receiver, and magazine floorplate all feature fine floriate engraving.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed into a textured ramped base that is screw set into the barrel. The rear sight is a flip up u-notch with a white triangle aiming reference that is dovetailed into the barrel boss. The receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled with two-piece Weaver bases that have attached 1” Weaver rings (no optic is included).
Stock Configuration and Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered with rosewood forend nose, rosewood capped pistol grip, Monte Carlo comb with cheekpiece, and a serrated steel buttplate. The stock has just a few imperfections, the most notable being a series of nicks on the cheek piece. On either side of the forend there are a few light compressions. The checkering is well-defined and there are no chips or cracks. The LOP is 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The finish on the buttplate seems to have worn away. There is moderate wear at the heel. Overall, the stock is in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is still quite bright with well-defined rifling. There is no erosion, but there is minor stubborn fouling throughout.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are just a few minor handling marks, but otherwise this rifle is free of any notable wear or damage. The markings are clear. The screwheads are sharp. Overall, the rifle is in Fine condition, and if not for the wear on the stock, would rate in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Savage 110 rifle is a classic that has been made in all manner of configurations and chambered for many cartridge types—it’s popularity is well known, and several generations now have utilized it. So it’s with taking a moment to savor a 110 that is rather rare, such as this left-handed and engraved example: the 110L Presentation Grade. There were less than 500 of this design manufactured between 1966-1969. This example is in overall Fine condition, with wear relegated mainly to the stock, a decent bore, and the lion’s share of its finish remaining. The gold accents against the nickel plated hardware create a nice contrast without overstepping into tackiness. This rifle is well-appointed, truly a prize for the serious rifle collector.
