Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “P. Mod 37, Kal. 7,65.”, a German army acceptance stamp, and “jhv / 41”. The left side of the frame, slide, and barrel are marked “18765”. The left side of the trigger guard bow is marked with the “WaA58” Waffenamt stamp. The barrel fitting is marked with a German army acceptance stamp.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a short blade dovetailed into the top of the slide. The rear sight is a “V” notch at the back of the slide. The top of the slide has a thin flat finely checkered rib to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are walnut with vertical serrations. The panels show light nicks and scratches and a couple of minor interruptions in the serrations on either side. There are light compressions above the grip screw on the left panel. There is scattered discoloration from age and handling. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with a few spots of faint erosion which may just prove to be fouling. The rifling is well done.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 70% of its current metal finish. There is finish loss and light pitting on the sides and bottom of the slide. There is thinning at all leading edges. The front strap shows oxidation and the back strap shows a very light mottled patina. There are scattered nicks and dings throughout. There is standard operational wear. The serrations on the slide and hammer are sharp. The grip screw is tool-marked and the markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Good-Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol has a grip safety and a manual safety. The slide has a slight amount of play on the frame. The pistol was not designed with a magazine disconnect. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol has a lanyard ring at the bottom rear of its butt. This pistol comes with a total of two blued 7 round magazines and a brown leather holster. The magazines are blued with a steel follower and a long serrated finger extension at the front of the floorplates. The floorplates are marked “37M”.
Our Assessment: From: “The Fémáru Model 37 pistol is not common, as they were only made for a few years (1937-1944) with a total production of some 80,000 pieces, including those made under German occupation. The Model 37 was a re-design of the Hungarian Model 29 and was adopted by the Hungarian Army in 1937, chambered in .380 A.C.P. Hungary entered WWII as one of the Axis powers, but had soon had enough and began negotiating for peace. Germany learned of this and invaded Hungary. During their occupation, the FEG factory made the Model 37 pistols for the Germans, except with the addition of a frame mounted safety, and many were made in .32 ACP.”. This is a WWII Hungarian Model 37 jhv 41 Sub Variation 4 with the Waffenamt 58 stamp. It rates in about Good-Very Good condition and would make a great addition to a WWII military pistol collection.
