Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “NO 2 MK. I* / BROWNING-FN 9MM H.P”, the Enfield “ED” logo next to “FTR 63”, and “INGLIS CANADA” in front of the slide serrations. The right of the barrel, slide and frame are each marked “0T7071”. The right of the frame has crossed flag and “C”-broad arrow proof markings. The butt has inspection marks. The left side of the hammer is marked with the Enfield logo. There is an import mark on the top left of the frame that is too small and poorly struck to make out.

Barrel Length: 4 5/8”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated, tapered blade dovetailed to a boss at the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch integral to a raised base at the rear of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered black synthetic grips. The grips show scattered nicks, scuffs, and scratches, most in the smooth borders. There are a few minor interruptions in the checkering on either panel, it is generally sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good condition. There is a lanyard loop on the rear left side of the grip.

Type of Finish: Black

Finish Originality: Original to Refurbish

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with some light fouling at the throat. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 90% of its current metal finish. There are scattered little nicks and scratches on the slide and frame. There is light thinning at some of the leading edges. There is thinning on the hammer and slide stop. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this pistol is in about Fine condition as refurbished.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. It has a frame mounted safety and the round hammer has a half cock safety position. The slide has minor play on the frame. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of two 13-round magazines and a green canvas belt holster. The inside of the belt is marked “TAWO / A.B.L. 1954”.

Our Assessment: The No. 2 Mk. I* was primarily manufactured for the Canadian and British military. The ejector is slightly higher than the Mk. I, resulting in improved ejections. This example was refurbished by Enfield in 1963. This pistol retains about 90% of its current metal finish. Please see our photos and good luck!
