Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The right side of the chamber is marked “.257 ROB”. The bottom of the bolt is matched and marked “1019”.
Barrel Length: 25” Custom Barrel
Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is installed with a pair of Leupold-style bases.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is skipline checkered wood with black caps, white spacers, brass reinforcing pin, and a fluted Monte Carlo comb with a cheekpiece. There are some scattered compressions and draglines, the most noticeable are on the left side at the action and right side by the trigger. There are some scratches, the most noticeable are on the left side of the buttstock. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is intact and strong. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the aftermarket black rubber buttpad and 11 5/8″ to the wood. There are aftermarket spacers that are off-center to the wood. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blued
Finish Originality: Original finish but the barrel is not original to the receiver.
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There are a couple of small spots of erosion in bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are a few light patches of surface oxidation on the barrel, most noticeable on the right side towards the nose of the forend. There are a few light marks through the finish on the barrel, most noticeable towards the muzzle. The receiver has some light handling wear and some light discoloration on the right side towards the rear. There is some mottled discoloration on the bolt handle. The body of the bolt has a few spots of discoloration from previous oxidation. There is standard operational wear. The markings are clear. The screw heads show light use. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement, and has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. This BDL has a left-handed action. It is chambered for the .257 Roberts cartridge and has a custom aftermarket 25” barrel, blued finish, and skipline checkered wood stock. This should be a great rifle to take target shooting or hunting and hitting your mark should be no problem once you install a scope. Please see our photos and good luck!
