Our Assessment: This Swedish Mauser Model 1894/14 Carbine was part of the original German Mauser Oberndorf contract. It was produced during six months that spanned from the second half of 1895 to February of 1896. The Model 1894 Carbine originally did not mount a bayonet. The 1894/14 variant has a nose cap that allows the bayonet to be mounted with a bayonet lug. This one is in great shape for its age. It has been refinished so it looks great and still has deep markings. This rifle is an Antique, so No FFL is required…unless you live in California.
