Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY INC. ILION, NY .300 REM ULTRA MAG”. The left side of the chamber is marked with an inspection mark and “BK 96”. The right side of the barrel is marked with inspectors marks at the breech. The bottom of the bolt is matched and marked “4388”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a serrated ramped riser screwed to the barrel. The front sight has a protective hood installed. The rear sight has been removed but is included, the holes have been filled. The included rear sight is a “U” notch fitting on a slider on a ramped base. The top of the receiver is installed with a pair of Leupold-style bases and rings holding a Leupold VX2 6-18×40 scope. There are a few light handling marks. The scope has a BDC reticle and the glass is clear. The scope rates in about Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is skipline checkered wood with black caps, white spacers, brass reinforcing pin, and a fluted Monte Carlo comb with a cheekpiece. There are a few minor scuffs and a few light compressions, the most noticeable compressions are on the right side of the buttstock. There are some light handling marks. There are is some finish loss around the sling swivel studs from use. There is some finish wear on the edge of the pistol grip. The checkering is intact and strong with a couple of nicked peaks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the black rubber Remington buttpad. The pad has some light wear. The stock rates in about Fine Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is some light thinning on the edge of the muzzle. There are some little bubbles in the floorplate finish and a couple tiny marks into the finish on the edges of the trigger guard. The bolt handle has some light wear. There is standard operational wear. The markings are clear. The screw sockets show light use. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the previously described Leupold scope, the original rear sight, an extra pair of bases, padded leather sling, and a manual.
Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement, and has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. This BDL is chambered for the .300 Remington Ultra Magnum cartridge and has a 26” barrel, blued finish, and skipline checkered wood stock. This should be a great rifle to take target shooting or hunting and hitting your mark should be no problem with the included Leupold scope. Please see our photos and good luck!
