Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PEACEKEEPER”, “.357 MAG” and “AWA ITALY”. The left side of the frame is marked “-PAT. SEPT. 12, 1871- / -PAT. JULY 2, 1872-”. The grips are marked with a horse and Great Seal of the United States. The bottom of the frame is marked with the serial number “P6782”,  while the trigger guard and bottom tang are marked “6782”. The cylinder is marked “P”, “6”, “7”, “8”,  and “2”.

Barrel Length: 5.5”

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade that is fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a V notch in the top strap of the frame.

Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grips are two-piece checkered black plastic. There is some minor handling and storage wear, mostly concentrated at the butt. The checkering is still sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall the grips are in Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Blued Barrel and Cylinder with Case Colored Frame

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling remains sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 98% of its finish. The pistol has some minor handling and storage marks. Notably, there is a minor drag line along the cylinder. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are sharp. Overall the pistol is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box Paperwork and Accessories: The revolver comes with its case that features corresponding serial number, instruction manual, spent shell casing and safety lock. The case has only minor handling and storage marks and the foam inserts have retained their shapes. Overall the case is in Excellent condition.

 

Our Assessment: This AWA model 1873 is a single action revolver chambered in .357 magnum. The pistol has an expertly crafted finish on the frame, cylinder and barrel. This revolver had a limited run due to a copyright conflict with Colt , but is considered one of the best modern replicas of the m1873. The pistol can be taken out to the range or used for Wild West reenactments. Goodluck on your bid!
