Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “M-14S .308 / IDE USA SFLD MICH. / -POLYTECH CHINA” and features the serial number “05473”. The top of the bolt is marked “5437”.

Sights/ Optics: The rear sight is a fully-adjustable aperture set between protective ears, the face of the right knob is marked “LEFT” twice between alternating curved arrows and “WCE” underneath one of the curved arrows. The body of the left knob is marked with numbers 2-11 with “W” “C” and “E” between 10 and 8, and “M” between 10 and 11.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The wood stock features a pistol grip, a straight comb, a steel buttplate with storage compartment and flip-up steel shoulder rest, and the factory sling swivel at the bottom of the forend and a fixed sling swivel at the rear. There are handling marks, scratches and nicks. Notably, the left side of the stock in front of the bolt has some scratches, the bottom portion of the grip has a scratch and a screw is missing on the bottom of the forearm. There are no cracks or chips. Overall, the stock is in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains about 75% of its finish. There are handling marks, scratches, and nicks. Notably, the left and right sides of the front band have dents and mainly the receiver has patches of discoloration. There appears to have been a marking on the operating rod which is obscured by the finish but otherwise the markings are clear. The screwheads are sharp. Overall this rifle is in Very Good condition.
Finish Originality: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The rifle comes with an attached sling. The sling is web green with black metal attachments. The threading is still strong, but there is some mild operational wear. The metal parts have some handling marks. Overall the sling is in Very Good condition.
Our Assessment: This Polytech M14-S is a semi-automatic rifle that takes .308 Win rounds. This is a Chinese produced reproduction of the original M14-S that was made by the Chinese company Poly Technologies, Inc. and distributed between 1988-89 in the U.S. The rifle has a bit of wear but remains serviceable and with a little work should be ready for a day on the range.
