There is infrequent minor surface oxidation. The action shows operational wear. The screw head is sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol has a de-cocker safety. We did not fire this handgun. As with all firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a single 8-round magazine. The magazine is marked “W” on the right, the left has a Walther banner logo over “PP 7,65 m/m”. The magazine shows moderate operational wear and scraping with intact feed lips and a strong spring, in Good condition.
Our Assessment: The Walther PP, or Polizeipistole, was introduced in 1929 and found great success both commercially and with law enforcement agencies. With the outbreak of WWII, the German military found that its huge demand for sidearms could not be filled only with P38 and Luger pistols, orders for a variety of other models would be placed and the Walther PP was among them. This example is a particularly late wartime example, made in 1945. As was common with the pistols made in the late war, the finish is a little bit rough and some corners were cut. The slide does not have the standard Walther slide legend and there are no acceptance or inspection marks on the gun, just the serial number and “ac” Walther code. Given the year it was made and what Germany saw in the following years, it is in quite good shape, having light finish wear, a great bore and strong mechanics. This will make a great addition to a Walther or WWII era pistol collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
