Markings: There is no visible import mark. The left side of the receiver is marked with Egyptian “first born” symbol (the Hakim was their first domestically produced semi automatic rifle), with 2 lines of Arabic “numbers”, with the serial number in Arabic and with a line of Arabic “script”. The sides of the safety lever, at the rear of the receiver, are with Arabic characters. The area at the rear of the receiver, below the safety, is marked with a small “crescent moon and 3 stars”. The bottom metal, barrel band, nosecap and top cover are each marked with a small “crescent moon and 3 stars”. The buttplate is marked with the serial number in Arabic. The front of the magazine is marked with the Egyptian “first born” symbol.

Barrel Length: Approximately 25 ½ inches to the end of the muzzle break.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is hooded post set atop a raised base. The rear sight is a “U” notched blade attached to a sliding escalator assembly. It is marked with Arabic “numbers”.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece hardwood stock has a pistol grip, finger grooves, metal nosecap, barrel band with sling bar, through bolt, sling loop under the butt, and a metal buttplate. The buttplate shows scrapes and oxidation. The wood shows various scrapes, scratches, and compression marks. Most of the marks are light. A few have damaged portions of the surface wood. The LOP measures 13 ? inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The lands are bright, the grooves are semi bright, and the rifling is deep. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The top cover, bolt, and bottom metal scrapes & scuffs. The top cover also shows a few small scratches. The metal shows other small handling marks. The screw heads are intact. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with a 10-round magazine. It shows light scrapes and a few light scratches; mostly along the bottom. It is in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition. The rifle has a web sling attached. The metal tab & claw show light scrapes & light surface erosion. The webbing shows discoloration, soiling, and areas of fraying. Overall it is in about Very Good condition.

Our Assessment: This Egyptian Hakim rifle will make a collector very happy. It is a semi automatic rifle with a strong bright bore. It is chambered in 8mm Mauser and can put 8mm down range as fast as you can pull the trigger.  It looks great (for its age) and is marked with clear Arabic script & numerals.
